Beryllium Copper Iron set SW,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2 – (9 clubs) Aldila Graphite shaft Low torque - Senior flex - Orange Dot.Here is my gently used set of nine (9) PING Beryllium Copper irons, 2-9 with the same serial number, confirming that these clubs were originally sold together as a package and have managed to stay together as a family. Club Heads:The club heads are in very good shape, without any noticeable nicks or stone marks. The club faces show only light scuffs while the soles likewise show only light scratches consistent with light use and good care.  The only flaw I can identify is a missing ferrule on the 7 iron. The Sand wedge, which is also a Ping Eye 2, has a different serial number but it's fitted with the same shaft and grip as the other clubs and so looks and feels identical to the set. Please refer to the photos to confirm the good condition of these clubs.Shafts - Grips:All of the irons have Aldila Graphite Senior Flex, low torque shafts which offer a lighter alternative to steel and, according to the golf pundits, more flex is generally better than too stiff and lets you slow down your swing speed a  bit in search of increased control. The shafts are clean and in great shape and they all have Golf Pride Tour Velvet grips, also in very good condition. Why Ping Berylliums?:This set is an excellent choice for the improving mid to high handicapper who wants to own a very good quality set of clubs that in addition to their feel, forgiveness and softness, offer a really beautiful profile and unique colour.  They are the original, classic perimeter weighted club ...which increases the sweet spot and saves mishits of course....but with a very unique look that separates them from the herd; Copper!  And unlike most clubs, you can decide to let them tarnish up for that dark, bronze-patina look or you can buff them up occasionally so they shimmer, like these. Don’t like the shine?  No problem; they'll darken -up again naturally. As a matter of fact, it's rare that my clubs don't attract compliments from other golfers, some who have never seen anything like them before. Some have suggested that Ping Eye 2 irons may be the best irons Ping made. Of course Pings are bulletproof in terms of manufacturing quality but these Beryllium Copper clubs are becoming increasingly hard to find in an original set; something that makes them somewhat collectible!  Some argue that the Beryllium Copper (BeCu) feel quite a bit softer on all hits, especially ones off center. The Ping Beryllium Copper Irons are not considered Pro sticks…they’re designed for mid to high handicap players…bogey golfers like me. However, some pros seem to like them, particularly the short irons. There was much made of the innovative way Ping grooved some of their Eye 2 clubs and the “square” grooved club, which was ultimately allowed in professional play, sparked debate again when  and other players put the Ping Eye 2 wedge in their bags on tour. I've read that  and  were among players who had also used the wedges and it's noteworthy that Mark Calcavecchia won in Montreal, June 24, 2012, using Eye 2's.
