Measures approximately 16 1/2" x 12 1/2" framed, under glass. In great overall condition, minor touch of light foxing upper left corner. in period black frame. Charles Edmond Hermet was a Frenchman with a fondness for all things British and so adapted a British name, Harry Eliott, for his artistic pursuits. He was a painter and illustrator, best remembered for illustrating the works of Charles Dickens, as well as for a series he did on outdoor and hunting scenes very much in the style of Cecil Alden.
