Description
Model: Snowdrop Country/Region of Manufacture: United Kingdom

This was purchased as part of a collection.   It is approximately 120 years old and in very nice condition. It is roughly 1 1/2" in diameter or slightly smaller than today's golf ball.Gutta percha, the sap from an Indian Rubber tree, was used to mold golf balls from the year 1850 to approximately 1900.  During that time many different patterns were experimented with. This is a uncommon ball and it appears to be patented (RD) for "Registered".  The gutty balls were often remolded once played with as the golf club leaves a crease in the ball when hit and after a couple of rounds the owner would heat up the ball and put it into a mold to re-shape it again into its original round shape...however all manufacturer's markings would disappear in the process.  A scarce item and a great addition to your golf collection.Don't miss out!   Check out my !  I SHIP FROM CANADA WHERE SHIPPING AND POSTAGE IS MORE EXPENSIVE THAN IN THE USA and ITEMS LIKE THIS TAKE 1-3 WEEKS TO DELIVER TO THE USA, PLEASE BE PATIENT.  Proper packaging, shipping and handling  to USA, $16.95 and Canada is $12.50.
