PING’s G irons deliver all of the performance advantages of game-improvement irons, most notably more distance, higher launch angles, and maximum forgiveness, while packaging those attributes in a design that has the look of a players club. By connecting the G’s Custom Tuning Port to the sole, a deeper center of gravity was created, leading to higher launch and increased MOI. COR-Eye Technology, meanwhile, delivers the faster ball speeds that equate to more distance. That said, the G features a fairly compact profile and minimal offset, as well as a thinner topline and sole, all of which combine to give the club a streamlined look at address. Also of note, the AWT 2.0 shafts that come stock in the G irons have added performance benefits. In the longer irons, the shafts are lighter to create higher launch angles and more distance, while the shafts in the shorter irons are heavier to promote better control, both in terms of trajectory and distance.
