MacGregor VIP by Nicklaus Irons 2, 4-PW 1968 1967 Missing 3 Iron Clubheads are in good condition with normal bag chatter. Could probably be considered very good for clubs approaching 50 years of age. These haven’t seen a lot of range time as they don’t have wear spots from hitting a lot of golf balls. The face frosting is largely intact. There is a bit of surface rust in some of the grooves, as pictured. Shafts are the stock Tourney Taper medium flex. The shafts are straight and in very good condition with normal scratches but no worn spots. There are no labels, but the serial number on the ferrule has an “R” for the last character which means these are regular flex. This set ranges in length from a 38.75 inch 2 Iron to a 35.25 inch Pitching Wedge. Re: the ferrules. The 2 Iron and the 5 Iron have the serial number 0S3022R. The remainder of the irons have the serial number 0S3023R. The 7 Iron and Pitching Wedge are missing the red and white trim rings. This set has brand new Lamkin Perma Wrap Classic grips with the Lamkin logo installed on the underside of the shaft. This is a beautiful grip which calls to mind the classic MacGregor leather wrap with gold bead that was an option on this set when they were first available. These are ready to play or display! Thank you for your interest!
