From Bunkers Paradise Review:
Tech:The XTD CC irons are the first golf clubs to have a cross cavity design, combbined with “Cut-Thru” velocity slots.   They feature the thinnest cast face to date by Adams Golf, which is promote more ball speed.  Adams also moved back the center of gravity from the face to generate what they call a “gear effect” similar to a hybrid.  The thought process there is to help with poorly hit shots that spin out of control.Looks:Some of you will love the looks of these irons and some of you will not like it at all.  The cross cavity on the Adams XTD irons is one of the most unique looking golf clubs you will ever see.  The cross cavity in the back almost looks like a black widow spider with a red dot right smack dab in the middle of the back of the club.  It also features the XTD symbol with some red highlights.Feel:So does all this new technology feel any different then other “game improvement” irons?  Absolutely yes! The Adams XTD irons felt more like a forged iron when hitting them.  Not to say that they are any less forgiving then your typical “game improvement” iron, but the feel was more like aPerformance:Are you looking for a golf club that feels like a forged iron at impact but hits like a game improvement iron?  The Adams XTD might just be your answer.  When I start hitting new clubs for testing, I like to start out with a PW and move my way up the chain, just as if I was at the range putting in some practice time.  After my first couple shots with the pitching wedge I was loving how the ball flight looked.  I was hitting high piercing shots that felt sweet off the face.  I have mentioned before in several of my reviews that I am not a long ball hitter.  I usually have to hit a club more than everyone else.  So when most people are hitting their pitching wedge on an approach shot, I pull out my 9 iron.  With that said, I know my distances very well.  When I test clubs, I go to the same range, the same practice spot and hit at the same targets so I can accurately test distances etc.
