RARE Perflex TCD, a driver made of Vexlar, a urethane plastic developed for the aerospace industry.
Taylormade Titanium launcher shaft, Pro plus III grip. Club in very good condition. Great for club collector.
Its manufacturer, Bullo International of Salt Lake City, says that the driver will add 10 to 30 yards off the tee. Jim Jeppson, president of Bullo, said that it took nearly four years for the club's inventor, Ken Whiting, to develop the plastic head. ''It required a material that was hard enough to hit a ball but soft enough to rebound, a club that the company says will compress slightly and rebound like a slingshot. The club comes with a lifetime guarantee. The company also manufactures 3 and 4 1/2 woods, the latter made to consolidate two clubs, the 4 and the 5 wood. Each club is made to specifications, including a choice of graphite or metal shaft, shaft length, grip and swing weights. The Vexlar head contains a half-inch rear weight port for adding lead powder. The club's retail price is $169.
