Ben Hogan 'Radial'  3 - Equaliser Wedge (50 degrees) Blade Irons (1983-6)If you are a serious buyer in this market for easy to hit blades with soft shafts please take a look at my Judy Rankin irons listed in my eBay shop. (If still available). The Rankin irons are more for a divot taker who requires a lower ball flight than provided by the Radials. SHAFTS:                     Radial Flex Vector (Senior / Lady's). Which is why these irons bear the                                     designation 'Senior / Ladies.' Nothing to do with the heads.  SUPPLIED WITH:       Brand new set of red head covers with neoprene views. (value £ 36.)GRIPS:                        Fitted with slim red / black / white grips.      CONDITION:               Outstanding. All  head engraving paint refreshed. Heads and shafts waxed. DESIGN FEATURES: Flange sole / offset hosel, low centre of gravity - high ball flight, heavy                                     heads - distance from slow swing speed.  IDEAL PLAYER:         A sweeper (rather than a digger) of the ball.  PROVENANCE:          Previous owner Maureen Hodges, Albuquerque, New Mexico. All clubs leave my workshop  in optimal condition and immaculate. But without (chrome-thinning) machine polishing.  The set offered for sale here comprises 3,4,5,6,7,8,9, and E only. A total of eight irons. So what makes this model so special? These are not only blades, but also blades with a  low centre of gravity head mass which facilitates extremely easy ball launch. Couple that with a broad flange sole and one has the easiest to hit set of blades ever manufactured.  Add that formula to soft flex shafts and Ben Hogan Golf created a professional set of irons for the slow swinger - something  rarely created in golf's history, namely  the 'Radial.'Why should a slow swinger wish to opt for blades? Ignoring their beautiful understated profile with no frills or bells,  they make it easier to deliberately put side spin on a ball because there is no peripheral weighting doing its utmost to straighten out every shot.Historically the golf manufacturing industry regarded slow swingers as being inept golfers who required cavity backs in order to straighten out the ball on every bad ball strike. Imagined slow swingers consistently missed centre face by country mile.   How many older players have nowadays been forced to play beginner's cavity backs simply because soft shaft flex shafts are nowadays only fitted to cavity backs, never blades?  These blades have had very little play and are in exceptional condition. I imported them from the U.S.A. at not inconsiderable expense because they are in such great condition. With vintage irons CONDITION IS EVERYTHING. Buy these irons and if you are a competent but slow swinging golfer and I guarantee that you will not be disappointed. The price is so low only because these clubs are for a very limited market, a market even smaller than the left hand golf market.
