Up for Sale is a Tom Stewart " Sole Weight " 88 Niblick made by Louisville Golf Company. This Niblick was copied from an original Stewart club made in around 1934 near the end of the Stewart Era before selling out to Spalding. This club was never shown in Ralph's Stewart Book. The Sole Weigh head was designed to launch the ball quicker. I think is club is like the modem gap wedge, great from 80 yards and in. I put in a Spalding 1932 Kro-Flite Hickory Shaft, which has the best grain hickory wood of any that I have ever seen.In todays new hickory shafts are very thick, which I think takes away the feeling hitting your shots. The shaft is { Firm } solid straight tight to hosel, no cracks or chips professionally reset and epoxy ready for play. The sole is almost 3/4 of an inch. Swing Weight D ~ 5 , Length 36 1/4", Loft 52 *. " Excellent Original Era Leather Grip. "This club has been approved for Hickory Play by The U S Society of Hickory Golfers and The U S Golf Collectors Society.
