New! Wilson have launched a cracker...Wilson D300 Golf Irons are new to the market. The FLX Face Technology minimises contact points between the face and club head for maximum face deflection and distance at impact. These Wilson Staff D300 irons offer improved and refined FLX Face Technology that enforces a powerful launch through maximum bend. This is achieved by freeing 76% of the face from the body completely, minimising contact points between the club head and the thin face. Wilson Golf’s Global Innovation Director, Michael Vrska, says: “The refined and improved ‘FLX Face' technology is the highlight of the D300 and players will love the distance increases they see, but there's also maximum MOI and great feel for an oversized, forgiving head.”In terms of looks and performance, these clubs are considered by Wilson to be the best they’ve ever produced. They improve upon the factors that made the award-winning D200 family renowned. Using cutting-edge “power holes” (filled with TE031 urethane which controls vibration) with improved length and spacing, the thickness of the wall has been changed strategically to provide for additional space for the face to flex upon impact. Perimeter weighting is also increased by repositioning the mass (low and back) that is freed-up from the holes (utilising toe and heel weight pods).Michael Vrska also stated that “Innovation is at the core of all we do and elevating distance is something we take seriously.” The combined weight (60 grams) of the special heel and toe weight pods increase the Moment of Inertia by being positioned on the extreme perimeter of the clubhead.
