Awesome brand new, never used special serial numbered putter made by the "John Byron Golf Co.", based in Huntington Beach, Ca. This classic "Dale Head" putter was made for the "Frank Sinatra Celebrity Invitational" held annually in Palm Springs/Palm Desert to benefit his wife's Charity, the Barbara Sinatra Center for Abused Children(Rancho Mirage). On the putter face is the serial number #331/415 and "John Byron". Stamped on the bottom is "Frank Sinatra Invitational". The backside is marked "Dale Head" and "John Byron, Huntington Beach, Ca., Made in USA". Putter is right handed and measures 35" inches, has a new grip made by "Golf Pride" and the club comes with a nice black leather head cover embossed with "Frank Sinatra Celebrity Invitational". The original plastic is still wrapped around the unused grip, also stamped with his facsimile signature "Frank Sinatra". My best guess is these putters were included in the tournament's "Gold Tee Gift Package" or the "Platinum Circle Tee Gift Package", depending on the golf contestant's charitable contribution amount. The recipient of this special putter never used it, probably proudly showing it off to friends and family. Obtaining the Gift Package wasn't cheap: the highest priced "Golf Contestant" Spot was $100,000. The other contestant Packages that received this special Gift Package were $50,000, $25,000(2 different options), $10,000 and $3,500. The $2,500, $1,000, $250, $125 and $100 Packages did not include this Gift Package. The year this particular putter was part of the Package? I'm guessing 1993, maybe 1994, give or take a year or two?, prior to Frank's passing in 1998.Please see photos for condition and feel free to email me with any questions prior to bidding.Returns accepted only if item not exactly as described. Thanks for looking! (and taking the time to read my entirely long description!)
