Neben Callaway und der Acushnet Company (Titleist, Footjoy) ist TaylorMade der umsatzstärkste Golfausrüster weltweit. 1984 kaufte der Wintersportspezialist Salomon die kleine Firma TaylorMade. Zum sportlichen Erfolg kam das zur Expansion nötige Kapital. 1998 wurde Salomon, und damit auch TaylorMade an die Adidas AG verkauft. Heute ist TaylorMade eine Tochter von Adidas mit Sitz in Carlsbad (Kalifornien, USA). Eine traditionell starke Stellung hat TaylorMade bei Drivern. Mit Fairway Hölzern, Rescues, Eisen, Wedges und Puttern wird die komplette Palette an Schlägern hergestellt.
