Here for your consideration is a gorgeous dark chocolate colored original Mackenzie Walker Peter Jacobsen model leather golf bag.  I got this from the original owner who swore to me that it had never been used;  it just sat in his closet.  It does show just a bit of shelf wear;  there are two small spots (one on either side of the bag) that show wear from contact with the internal stay frame (see 2nd from last picture).   For those of you not familiar with them:  Mackenzie golf bags are made by hand, right here in Portland, of the finest materials available.  They are generally accepted as the gold standard of carry bags and are sold at such nefarious places as Augusta National and Seminole Golf Club. This is the original version of the Mackenzie, the Peter Jacobsen model (Peter owned part of the company at one time, and was instrumental in the bag's design).   This model differs slightly from the current one:  it has an internal stay system that keeps the bag upright (like for use on a power cart), and it has an internal umbrella sleeve.  It still has the original brochure and blank warranty card. From Mackenzie’s website:  “The Original MacKenzie Walker is eight (8) inches in diameter, and has two large pockets. One pocket holds all the balls, tees, and accessories you are likely to need, and the other is large enough to comfortably hold a windshirt and rainpants. If you can’t fit what you need in the two pockets, then you need a bigger caddie!”  A current Mackenzie bag, ordered with stays and the umbrella sleeve would cost about $1250.  So, this one is half-price. The bag has been conditioned with Leather N Rich and will, before delivery, be treated with mink oil for moisturizing and water-repellency. I buy/sell/trade a lot of leather goods, and these two treatments are the best available for vegetable-tanned hides. Mackenzie bags are works of art that are made to last a lifetime.  If you keep the leather conditioned, your grandkids will be fighting over this after you’ve gone on to your next life! Finally, a work about offers…  I don’t think my asking price is unreasonable, and it’s pretty firm.  So, don’t bother me with a $400 or $450 offer;  the bag will undoubtedly sell for $500+…or I’ll keep it to partner the two I already have.  I’m not going to sell it cheap;  Mackenzie doesn’t have sales, and they have a backlog, so you have to wait a bit for a new one.
