The hybrid has a pair of rails were designed into the sole, running from the leading edge to the back of the head to help the King F7 hybrids skim across the turf instead of digging. Cobra said that as the head makes contact with the ground, the rails also help maintain speed, which minimizes distance loss on slightly fat shots. Cobra calls it Baffler Rail technology, and it also is found in the King F7 fairway woods.An orange 18-gram weight was positioned in the back of the sole to pull the center of gravity away from the face and down, which Cobra said increases moment of inertia and provides more stability. It also should increase dynamic loft and create a higher initial launch angle, ideal for players who are replacing long irons with hybrids because they can’t get a ball to stop on firm greens.Each King F7 hybrid has a thin, 455 stainless steel face insert to enhance ball speed, and an eight-position MyFly adjustable hosel.
