Vintage Refurbished J.B. Halley Two Sided Brass Putter (c.1927) J.B. Halley & Company was founded in London by James Bryce Halley in around 1898 initially as an agent for other golf club makers.  James was an ambitious man who decided that it was potentially more profitable to engage in his own light manufacturing and very soon manufactured and market his own range of clubs, balls, bags tees and other golfing sundries. The company was perhaps in those days best known for its 'Ocobo' gutty ball. Unfortunately James only enjoyed ten years of golf manufacturing success and died in 1908. But even by then his company was strong and well established, and in the 1920s created many new club model lines which of course in those days many were personalised for individual customers. Nevertheless the JBH range are easily recognised and their most common cleekmarks are the crossed swords, the sea shell and the pyramid. For collectors the most desirable JBH clubs are its solid brass wooden shafted  putters most of which usually have a 'brick' face pattern. Although these can occasionally still be picked up in auction for modest prices, leading vintage golf club dealers are successfully retailing them for several hundred pounds each. At this point in time 'Old Scottish Putters' has one of the same pattern for sale with an asking price of £587. LENGTH:   34."  Shaft - 0.25"  bow.Completely unused following re-furbishment.  No head cover. New jumbo size bottle green leather grip.
