TIME WARP - 45 Year Old Never Used John Letters 'Golden Goose' Brass Putter! Comes with a new 2016 'Golden Goose' Head CoverJohn Letters of course is a household name in golf - founded in Glasgow in 1918 as 'Letters Logan & Co.' and resurrected in 2005 when facing liquidation. The company is most famous for its 'Golden Goose' putter which was released in 1946, a model which - as a youth golfer - I personally exclusively used in the 1960s, largely due to its unprecedented perfect balance. The G.G. soon got copied by many other manufacturers and so J.L. began adding the words 'the original' in order to distinguish the genuine article from its many copies. This putter was purchased new by a collector in 1971, and has never been used so is absolutely pristine and original. I know of no other putter in the history of golf which has been almost continually produced for seventy years and which has secured so many major wins and achieved such fame. It's fundamental design is so genius that it essentially remains unchanged seven decades after conception! Notwithstanding the countless G.G. putters out there this one putter is of course unique due to it being pristine NEW vintage, not pristine restored vintage. Whilst I could ask a great deal of money for this item I would like it to go to a collector who appreciates it, rather than simply go to someone who is well heeled So I have set a price which most golfers could hopefully stretch to.
