This Studio Design 2.5 was totally restored by Scotty's Custom Shop. It has a black oxide finish, which is renowned for allowing the carbon steel to retain its soft, buttery feel. Very few other putters feel like carbon steel. However, black oxide does require maintenance after every use. It needs to be wiped with an oil cloth and should never be put away wet.
Studio Designs are some of the very few carbon steel Scottys. Most are stainless steel—which, in my opinion, does not have as soft a feel.
