Beautiful vintage medal with raised letters on the obverse "PALM BEACH GOLF CLUB 1926" with a raised golfer The reverse is engraved "PALM BEACH CHAMPIONSHIP MEDALIST WON BY E. P. STRATTON" The bottom is stamped "SOLID GOLD" This medal is approx. 1 1/8" X 1 13/16". Emory Stratton was one of the top amateur golfers in his youth and he tought golf for many years in the Massachusetts area where he was elected to The Massachusetts Golf Hall of Fame. A Mass Golfer article states that on June 19, 1931 10 Mass amateur golfers took on the British Ryder Cup Team at Winchester Country Club, among the Mass. golfers was Francis Ouimet, Jessie Guilford and Emory Stratton. I recently had this tested and the medal is gold plated, NOT solid gold. Guaranteed as described, refunds less all shipping.
