Johnny Roberts iron set 2-10 (putter) 77, 88, and the woods 1, 2, 3, 4 from about 1945-1950.The irons are chromium steel. A cross section of the shafts shows them not to be round but oblong or oval. The grips are a black leather type and in very good condition. very nice end caps on each club. The company is AGC Allied Golf Company, in business from about 1930 to 1970 in Chicago. Irons are 2-9 just like today, 10 is the putter, 77 is a chipper or jigger, 88 is like a sand wedge. Woods are 1,2,3,4. and nearly unused. Very lovely plastic ferule with yellow rings. Johnny Roberts a great amateur golfer of the era (played right hand) then suffered a serious car accident and could not swing a golf club again for a while. Then with some help became a very popular great golf trick artist--left hand. Allied Golf used his name for golf club production at that time. Chrome or Chromium for no rust. Probably one of a kind and only one set still around. Questions??
