NEW PING G #3 Fairway, 14.5 degrees – Stiff Flex Hand: Right Club Head: 3 Loft: 14.5 Shaft: ALTA 65 Graphite Flex: Stiff
Grip: PING 5L Round Headcover Included Store Price = $269 New Still in Factory Wrapping Faster, More Stable, Easier Launch Off The Deck With its most recent models of fairway woods, PING had been happy on several fronts, most notably as it related to forgiveness, structural design, and face technology. The one addition that the company’s engineers wanted to address with the G fairway woods was to make it easier to launch the ball higher from either a tee or the fairway. To accomplish that goal, the G’s sole has been modified, as it’s now flatter and sits lower to the ground. The clubface, meanwhile, has not been altered from the G30 design, but with the new sole of the G it’s now easier for players to hit the ball higher on the clubface, which means higher launch without sacrificing ball speed. Couple the new sole with a lower, further back CG (center of gravity) and, in addition to improved launch conditions, forgiveness is maximized as well. Also of note, the G series offers a “Stretch” model, which at 13 degrees is a strong 3-wood. The Stretch was designed for distance and has an overall larger profile and deeper face, which makes it great from a tee.
